I use an Adlerian approach in my therapy.  Adlerian Psychology focuses on the strength, uniqueness, and creativity of each individual and their ability to adapt to their environment. An Adlerian approach is integrative and eclectic and I incorporate different treatment methods that are best suited to the needs of each client. I draw from person-centred approach, cognitive-behavioural approach, and my training in emotion-focused therapy and attachment science to help clients improve their well-being, and understand themselves and their relationships at a deeper level.

I believe that one of the most important factors in positive therapy outcome is a strong and trusting relationship between counsellor and client. I provide a confidential, safe, caring, and non-judgmental environment for my clients to express themselves, to be heard, to consider choices and decisions, and to gain insight and personal understanding. I work collaboratively with clients to understand patterns that might be holding them back, to find new perspectives, and more effective solutions.  Everyone has inner strength and abilities which, at times of discouragement, may become neglected, buried, or forgotten.  My goal is to help my clients regain a sense of personal power and courage to take on life’s challenges, and to lead a more satisfying life. I honour my clients’ trust in allowing me to accompany them on their journey of healing and discovery.
